- For a royal wedding, FM Bilawal departs for Jordan.
Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari is set to embark on a diplomatic journey, as reported by the state-run APP on Wednesday. His first destination is Jordan, where he has been invited to attend the royal wedding by the esteemed Royal family of Jordan. The highly anticipated nuptials of Crown Prince Hussein, scheduled for Thursday, have already generated tremendous excitement in the typically tranquil desert kingdom. Fireworks displays, concerts, and a social media frenzy have welcomed this joyous occasion.
The wedding ceremony will unite Crown Prince Hussein, eldest son of King Abdullah II, with his Saudi fiancée, Rajwa Al Saif, in a grand affair that will be attended by regional monarchs, dignitaries such as US First Lady Jill Biden, and even the king of the Netherlands. To mark this momentous day for the Hashemite kingdom, a magnificent royal motorcade, exclusively reserved for special events, will traverse the capital city of Amman, celebrating the union of the 28-year-old couple.
As the anticipation continues to build, Jordan finds itself consumed by royal fever in the lead-up to the wedding of its future monarch. Following this leg of his trip, Foreign Minister Bilawal will proceed to Iraq from June 5th to June 7th. His visit to Iraq will involve meetings with Iraqi leadership, including his counterpart, where comprehensive discussions are expected to take place. The communique from the Foreign Office highlights that significant agreements will also be signed during this visit.
It is worth noting that Bilawal’s visit to Iraq comes at the invitation of Iraq’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Dr. Fuad Hussein. This journey signifies the strengthening of bilateral ties between the two nations and showcases Pakistan’s commitment to fostering diplomatic relations in the region. The visit holds great potential for fruitful discussions and the exploration of collaborative opportunities in various sectors between Pakistan and Iraq.
