FIA ordered to seize Rasikh Elahi’s assets worth billions

Lahore:  The court directed Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to seize the land worth Rs10 billioin and 22 bank accounts of Rasikh Elahi, the son of former Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhary Pervaiz Elahi, in the money laundering case.

According to the reports, the court also ordered to freeze the properties and bank accounts of the wife of Chaudhary Moonis Elahi and the alleged frontmen of Chaudhary brothers including Qaiser Bhatti and Abid Bhatti.

Besides it, the court also ordered freezing of  17,420-kanal of land worth Rs10 billion of all the co-accused besides 22 bank accounts of the co-accused through which t Rs3.5 billion were sent abroad.

The FIA sources said that Benami accounts and companies were used for corruption money and said that the Chaudhary family had been involved in making properties worth billions through corruption.

The court on the application of the FIA froze all accounts.

 All these properties and bank accounts would remain frozen until the agency completed its investigation against the suspects invovled in the money laundering.
