E-Challan: Safe City Announces Official SMS Number
ISLAMABAD: The Safe City Authority has announced that official e-challan notifications will now be sent exclusively from the SMS number 9915, urging citizens to remain vigilant against fraudulent messages.
A spokesperson said that earlier e-challan alerts were issued through the government short code 8070, but clarified that the Safe City Authority does not send traffic violation messages from any number other than 9915.
The spokesperson warned citizens to avoid making payments in response to suspicious messages or through unofficial websites, stressing that the authority never asks for bank details, account information, or payments via SMS.
Members of the public were also advised not to click on links received through fake e-challan messages, as such links may be used for phishing or financial scams.
Authorities urged citizens to verify all e-challan information through official Safe City platforms and report suspicious messages to the relevant departments.
