Bilawal Bhutto Approved as PPP’s Pick for Prime Minister

In a significant move indicating the strategic stance of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari has declared PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari as the official candidate for the position of Prime Minister in the upcoming general elections scheduled for February.

This announcement took place during the Central Executive Committee (CEC) meeting held at Bilawal House. During the meeting, key party members unanimously expressed confidence in the leadership of both Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari and Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

The high-profile meeting, attended by all members of the PPP Central Executive Committee, primarily focused on vital discussions regarding the party’s election strategies, manifesto, and the current political landscape in the country.

Prominent PPP leaders such as Secretary General Taj Haider, Syed Khursheed Shah, Rana Farooq Saeed Khan, Qamar Zaman Kaira, Samina Khalid Ghurki, Murad Ali Shah, Chaudhry Aslam Gill, and Ali Badr were present at the meeting.

Previously, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari had announced his candidacy for the election from NA-127. The PPP chairman conducted a meeting with various party leaders at Bilawal House in Lahore.

In a media interaction later on, Bilawal affirmed his decision to contest the election from Lahore, regardless of others’ opinions, stating, “I have decided to contest the election from Lahore, whether anybody liked it or not.”
