The pivotal moment of victory for the Pakistani athlete came with his third throw, propelling the javelin to an impressive distance of 87.82 meters—his personal best for the season. Though his subsequent throws didn’t match this exceptional distance, Nadeem continued to demonstrate his skill and perseverance. Notably, his sixth and final throw covered a commendable distance of 81.86 meters.

The realization of Arshad’s medal dreams was solidified when Julian Weber of Germany fell short of surpassing his mark of 86.79 meters with his final throw. Additionally, a decisive foul by Jakub Vadlejch further confirmed Nadeem’s place among the top two contenders. Despite a lesser throw of 87.12 meters in his fourth attempt, Nadeem’s earlier qualification for the championship’s final round was a testament to his consistent performance.

Nadeem’s journey to this historic achievement was marked by several significant milestones. His qualification for the championship’s final was paved by his impressive throw of 86.79 meters in the preliminary round, surpassing the Olympic benchmark of 85.50 meters. This performance highlighted his readiness for the world stage and solidified his position as a global athlete.

This momentum carried forward, leading him to his silver medal achievement at the World Athletics Championship.

Arshad Nadeem’s remarkable journey also includes a commendable fifth-place finish at the World Championship in the United States the previous year. A standout moment in his career came at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, where he achieved a record-breaking throw of 90.18 meters, underscoring his exceptional talent on the international stage.

The road to victory for Nadeem was not without its share of obstacles. Battling injuries to his elbow and left knee, he underwent surgery in London, a testament to his resilience and dedication to his sport. After a period of rehabilitation, he made a triumphant return to the competitive arena in May at the 34th National Games in Quetta. Unfortunately, his journey was briefly interrupted when he sustained a knee injury, forcing him to skip the Asian Championship held in Bangkok.
