AGP Shehzad Ata Elahi resigns

The latest reports say that the top law officer has resigned from his post for personal reasons.

Islamabad: Attorney General for Pakistan Barrister Shahzad Ata Elahi resigned from his office, citing personal reasons on Friday.

The AGP said that he resigned for personal reasons.

However, the sources claimed that he was asked to step down.

Previously, Elahi had replaced Ashtar Ausaf Ali who refused to continue his job due to health issues.

Barrister Shehzad Elah is the grandson of former President Fazal Elahi Chaudhary who is better known for his hardworking, professional integrity and grip in the field of law.

He has also experience in commercial, tax and banking laws, civil and commercial, corporate, constitutional litigation
