Islamabad to get an International standard football stadium

Capital Development Authority (CDA) in Islamabad has recently approved several major decisions during its sixth meeting of the year. One of the key decisions made during the meeting was the approval of the construction of an international standard football stadium in Islamabad. The move is a significant development for sports enthusiasts and athletes in the country who have been calling for better sports infrastructure.

CDA Board Meeting

The CDA Board meeting was chaired by Chairman Captain (Retd) Noor ul Amin Mengal at the CDA headquarters. The meeting was attended by several officials, including board members, engineers, architects, and other stakeholders.

Establishment of Building and Housing Control Wing

During the meeting, the board approved the Establishment of the Building and Housing Control Wing. The new wing is expected to prevent illegal constructions and enforce building by-laws. Rainwater harvesting was also made mandatory in residential and commercial buildings in Islamabad, with no building map to be approved without the construction of a water recharging well and tank.

Building Control Team

The Building control wing will consist of 50 teams of field staff, including one assistant director and two surveyors, who will perform their duties in the building control wing. The new building control team is expected to play a crucial role in enforcing building regulations and preventing illegal construction.

Rules and Regulations for Sanitation and Environment Wing

The CDA Board also approved the rules and regulations for strengthening the Sanitation Directorate and Environment Wing, giving them the authority to impose fines and punishments.

The Board delegated the authority to determine the fee to the CDA Chairman. The move is expected to boost the environmental protection and sanitation efforts in the city.

Amendments in Building Control By-Laws

During the meeting, the board granted approval to amendments made to the 2002 ICT Building Control By-Laws Regulation. Furthermore, building bylaws were also approved for the construction of IJP and Murree Road. Additionally, the Mouve area to floor area ratio has been increased from 3,000 yards to 15,000 yards, and the floor area ratio for the H series sector institutional building has also been increased.

The CDA board also decided to increase the floor area ratio of the educational plots of Zone 2, 4, and 5 of Islamabad.
