- The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has made a ruling for the provision of essential religious and legal amenities to PTI Chairman Imran Khan.
- The court’s decision includes the arrangement of a prayer mat and a copy of the English translation of the Holy Quran for Mr. Khan.
The directive was issued by Chief Justice Aamir Farooq of the Islamabad High Court, who put forth a written order responding to applications submitted by PTI Chairman Imran Khan. These applications pertained to Imran Khan’s request for a transfer to Adiala Jail, the necessity of specific facilities, and his desire to meet with legal representatives.
The written order clearly outlines that prison officials are under instruction to facilitate family visits and legal consultations in line with established prison regulations. The order seeks to ensure that Khan’s rights are upheld while he is confined.
Separately, the court addressed another matter presented by Imran Khan’s lawyer, Sher Afzal Marwat. This application raised concerns of contempt of court due to an alleged denial of access to Khan during a jail visit, resulting in a subsequent case registration. The IHC Chief Justice Aamir Farooq issued a written response to this application as well.
The court’s ruling directed the concerned parties to be made aware of the application and subsequently, to provide responses during the upcoming hearing. The application will be considered alongside Imran Khan’s broader plea for necessary facilities during his confinement.

Additionally, the court reserved its stance on a request for the provision of home-cooked food, deferring arguments on this matter to be discussed further in subsequent hearings.
This recent series of orders and applications highlights the efforts being made to ensure Imran Khan’s rights and well-being during his time of confinement. As the legal proceedings unfold, the Islamabad High Court’s decisions seek to balance Khan’s religious needs, legal consultations, and access to facilities in accordance with established regulations. The court’s continued attention to these matters underscores the importance of upholding justice and fairness in the legal system.
