Khadijah Shah Sent to Jail on Judicial Remand in Gulberg Plaza Arson Case

Khadijah Shah, a prominent PTI activist and fashion designer, has been sent to jail on judicial remand in connection with the Gulberg Plaza arson case. The Anti-Terrorism Court of Lahore rejected Shah’s request for physical remand, leading to her detention in prison. The case revolves around the allegations of arson and vandalism on a plaza in Gulberg, for which a complaint was filed at the Gulberg police station in Lahore.

On June 10, Shah, along with fellow PTI women activists Sanam Javed and Aliya Hamza, submitted bail applications in the Anti-Terrorism Court regarding the Corps Commander House attack case. The court had scheduled the hearing for June 12 and issued notices to the prosecution. Additionally, the court instructed the police to provide the case record for the upcoming hearing.

Throughout the proceedings, the accused maintained their innocence, claiming that they had been wrongly implicated in the case. They requested to be released on bail, emphasizing their desire for freedom pending further investigation and court proceedings. However, their pleas were not granted, and Khadijah Shah was subsequently sent to jail on judicial remand.

The Gulberg Plaza arson case has attracted significant attention due to the involvement of a prominent PTI activist and fashion designer. The charges of arson and vandalism are serious offenses that require a thorough investigation to determine the facts and bring the responsible parties to justice.

It is expected that the upcoming court hearings will shed more light on the evidence and testimonies presented in the case. The prosecution and defense will have an opportunity to present their arguments, allowing the court to make an informed decision based on the available facts and legal provisions.
