Lahore: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) would get cases registered against the police officers involved in illegal operation and violence during raid at Zaman Park to arrest Imran Khan, said party’s senior vice president Fawad Chaudhary on Sunday.
Taking to Twitter, Fawad Chaudhary said that the legal team would hold a meeting and deliberate on all aspects of the matter. He said that the police violated the court orders by entering into Imran Khan’s residence and ruining the home sanctity.
He wrote, “The meeting of the legal team has been called. The way the Lahore High Court orders were violated by entering into the house of Imran Khan; the way sanctity of the home was compromised; the things were stolen and even the juice boxes were taken; the torture on the innocent people and what all that happened in Islamabad is the result of constitutional crisis,”.
Fawad Chaudhary also said, “ Violating court orders is unforgivable. The courts should guard their judgments. Cases are being registered against all the police officers who launched illegal operations and were involved in the violence,”.
The reaction came a day after the police launched operation in Zaman Park–the residence of Imran Khan–as he left for Islamabad to attend Toshakhana case. The police reached Zaman Park with crane and removed the barriers from outside the residence of PTI Chief. They also broke down a wall and main gate of the house and entered into it.
The police, however, said that they had search warrants. They said they were attacked by the PTI workers from inside the house with petrol bombs and stones.
However, Dr. Uzma, the sister of PTI Chief Imran Khan, said that they asked the police to show them search warrants but they did not bother to respond, and broke down the gate and got into the house. She said that the police also arrested her husband as they both reached Zaman Park.
According to the reports, over 20 PTI workers were arrested by the police during the Zaman Park operation.
Addressing a press conference on Saturday afternoon, IGP Dr. Usman Anwar said they would take action against all those who were involved in attacking the police and interfering into the affairs of the state.
A van of Elite force was attacked and damaged allegedly by the PTI workers as the security officials were returning from PSL 8 on Saturday night.
The Punjab police spokesperson said that the action would be taken all those who attacked the Elite Force van. “Action will be taken against the elements who attacked the Elite Force team and its vehicle,” he added.
