LHC orders police to stop operation at Zaman Park

LAHORE – The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Wednesday ordered the police to stop the operation at Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan’s Zaman Park residence till 10am tomorrow (Thursday).

LHC Justice Tariq Saleem Sheikh announced the verdict on the petition of PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry.

The court had summoned the Punjab IG, chief secretary and Islamabad DIG by 3pm.

Earlier, police and other law enforcement agencies back off from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan’s Zaman Park residence in a bid for the smooth conduct of Pakistan Super League (PSL) qualifier today.

The local administration took the decision in the backdrop of PSL important match being played in Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium. Lahore Qalandars are taking on Multan Sultans in the qualifier.

Rangers were also called in to arrest the former prime minister Imran Khan in the Toshakhana case. Imran Khan’s Zaman Park turned into battlefield after the police launched an operation to disperse the PTI workers who were present there to stop the police from arresting Imran Khan.
