PESHAWAR: Two people including a woman were killed during two separate stampede incidents at free flour distribution points in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Thursday.
The first incident was reported in Bannu Sports Complex where a woman was killed and several others got injured during a stampede to get the free flour bag. The Rescue 1122 teams reached the site and shifted them to the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital Bannu.
In the second incident, a man lost his life during a stampede in the area of Charsadda. Thousands of people had gathered to get the free flour at a distribution point. A man was killed and four others sustained injuries during the stampede.
Reacting to the incidents, the Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) demanded registration of FIR against the concerned deputy commissioners.
Earlier, an elderly woman died in Muzaffargarh during a stampede at a free flour distribution point at Sarwar Shaheed Chowk on Monday.
