MUZAFFARABAD: Former Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir and PTI leader Sardar Tanveer Ilyas on Tuesday held Pervez Khattak responsible for the end of the government in the state .
Sardar Tanveer Ilyas said that after the intervention of Pervez Khattak, for the first time in Azad Kashmir, PTI’s government was overthrown and under a well-planned scheme, the position of Tehreek-e-Insaf was weakened.
“The differences with Pervez Khattak will be kept in front of Imran Khan, former defense minister, and we may have differences with Pervez Khattak, but we are all under the flag of PTI,” said the former prime minister
He claimed that those who were dreaming of the government in Azad Kashmir would also fail.
The Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Sardar Tanvir Ilyas, has been disqualified by the AJK High Court and declared ineligible to hold any public office. The court ruled that he committed contempt of court, and as a result, was not fit for public office. Despite apologizing for his contemptuous remarks and rude behavior, the court did not accept his apology.
Sardar Ilyas was sentenced until the adjournment of the hearing, and the court had written to the Election Commissioner for the appointment of a new Prime Minister of the state. This was the first time in the history of Azad Jammu and Kashmir that a Prime Minister had been disqualified over contempt of court. Sardar Tanvir Ilyas had challenged the verdict of the Azad Kashmir High Court against his sentence and approached the Supreme Court.
In his earlier statements, Sardar Tanveer Ilyas had indirectly accused the judiciary of interfering with the working of the government and the domain of the executive through the grant of stay orders.
