LAHORE: A raid was conducted by the police and anti-corruption team at the residence of Parvez Elahi, the President of Tehreek-e-Insaf and former Punjab chief minister.
The residence is located on Zahoor Elahi Road in Lahore, and police personnel in plainclothes were also present during the raid. Along with the raiding party, a significant number of senior lawyers, including Lahore Bar Association and Lahore High Court Bar presidents, were present at the residence.
The Anti-Corruption Court of Lahore had reserved its verdict on Pervez Elahi’s bail plea in a billion-rupee bribery and corruption case, and on Friday, the court announced its decision.
Judge Ali Raza extended Elahi’s bail until May 6, as the court had granted interim bail to him until the day of the hearing, and his bail application was under consideration by the court due to the expiration of his interim bail.
