Gujranwala: PML-N Punjab President and Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah deviated from his previous threatening statement to PTI Chairman Imran Khan, saying that “I meant it politically”.
Rana Sanaullah said that the politicians talk things politically and this was what he meant when he was talking about Imran Khan.
“Some TV anchors have also misunderstood my statement,” said the Interior Minister while talking to the reporters outside a court in Gujranwala. He had appeared before an anti-terrorism court in a case registered against him. The court suspended his non-bailable arrest warrants and put off further hearing till April 28.
Rana Sanaulllah said that he appeared before the court in its honor and respect, pointing out that the respect of the courts was important.
He regretted that Imran Khan was appearing before the courts ‘with mobs’ and despite that he is granted bail in several cases at a time.
“ I think there is a juma bazaar of bails for Imran Khan,”: said Rana Sanaullah.
In the last few days, he said, people saw a man bringing a mob along with him during his appearance before the court.
“The scenes shown by the TVs at the judicial complex are shameful,” said Rana Sanaullah, adding that unfortunately the law did not take course against Imran Niazi.
“But it must be ensured that Niazi must be held accountable for what he did,” said Khan.
Responding to another question about delay in elections, the Interior Minister said that the national economy was in crisis only because of Imran Khan as the past was quite clear. He said it was Niazi who did agreement with the IMF.
He said that the economic situation of the country would be better soon.
The Constitution, he said, guaranteed timely and collective elections in Punjab, because if two assemblies’ elections were held now then the results would not be acceptable.
“Elections should be on Oct 8 for the larger national interest,” he added.
The PML-N said that he did not threat to anyone, explaining that he said it politically.
“My statement has also been misunderstand and many TV anchors are also fanning it. But Imran Niazi is the root cause of all such evils,” he said, making it clear that democracy and Imrani fitna could not go side by side.
He went to say that he did not want to talk about the divisions of the judges and the decision of the four judges should prevail and should be accepted.
When asked if there was any division in the PTI, Rana Sanaullah said that many things would now come out of the PTI.
“There will many things that will come out of PTI and there will only be fitna,” he said.
He stated that Maryam Nawaz did not appear before the courts in the shape of “mobs” and he himself appeared before the courts without the workers.
“The workers came to know about this case and they reached here but we organized them and I only with my lawyers went inside the court,”.
