Ex-CJP Nisar’s audio leak raises many questions: Sharjeel Memon

KARACHI:  Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Memon said that after the audio leak of former Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar, many questions were being raised about how decisions were being made, and the complete role of former Chief Justice Saqib Nisar was a matter of inquiry.

The PPP leader said that efforts were being made to clear the way for Imran Khan.

“Today, the leaked audio of former Chief Justice Saqib Nisar has raised questions on all his suo moto notices. Opponents were oppressed in the courts, and should the decisions of former Chief Justice Saqib Nisar not be reviewed? Former Chief Justice Saqib Nisar violated his oath,”. Murtaza Wahab was also present there.

The reaction came after an alleged audio of ex-CJP Saqib Nisar surfaced on the social media.

Sharjeel Inam Memon, said that Imran Khan had made dangerous revelations in an interview. The presidential palace had become a nest of conspiracies.

A former prime minister, he said, had met with a former general in the presidential palace, and it was said that two governments were brought down on the advice of the former general.

The Information Minister of Sindh had further said that who gives the authority to political parties to demand negotiations? All these orders are unconstitutional and illegal. An attempt is being made to impose judicial decisions in the country. They were already fragile, dancing on someone else’s fingers, and now they want to dance on someone else’s fingers again. There should be suo moto notices on Imran Khan’s statement.

Advisor to Sindh Chief Minister for Law, Barrister Murtaza Wahab, said that those who meet Imran Khan secretly should be careful. The decisions in the country should be according to the constitution and the law.

Murtaza said that only the parliament had the power to amend the constitution.

“Do courts have the authority to amend the constitution? Will the courts make decisions about the fate of the country? The source of power is the people, who elect their representatives,” he added.

He stated that the theory had caused a lot of damage due to necessity, it needed to be buried.

“If accountability of the parliament is possible, why not the judiciary? The implementation of the law is stopped before it is passed. The bill does not receive notification, it is delayed,” said the PPP leader.

He said that they declared some people as incompetent and some as honest and trustworthy. The Supreme Court is not just the Chief Justice, all judges are respected.
