Tharparkar: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed gratitude for Chinese President Xi Jinping and other Chinese authorities for supporting China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, saying that “the sun of CPEC is shining from here in Tharparkar,”.
The Prime Minister said that the coalition government considered as an important part of its development plan for Pakistan.
He expressed these views while addressing a ceremony held after he inaugurated 1650 Mega Watts Shanghai Electric Thar and Thal Nova Thar projects in Tharparkar on Wednesday.
Built with a total direct investment of 3.53 billion dollars, these coal-fired projects will annually generate 11.24 billion units of low-cost electricity.
With the inauguration of these projects, the current production of electricity from Thar coal will increase to 3300 MW.
These projects were put on hold for the last four years, but on the instructions of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, their completion was made a first priority.
The PM said, “I don’t’ way to say anything about the politics but I want to say that the Constitution is supreme. Nothing is above the law. Nobody can provide refuge to the terrorists,”.
He stated that the electricity being produced here was lightening every part of the country. He also asked the Sindh government to continue to take such steps for the prosperity and development of the province.
The PM also announced hospital for the people of Tharparkar.
He regretted that transmission lines would be fixed till April 30, saying that Sindh would progress with the collective efforts of the federal government and the Sindh government.
“We will steer the country out of crises through collective efforts,” the PM added.
