Karachi: Bushra Ansari, the Lollywood star, reacted to the death sentence awarded to Zahir Jaffer in Noor Mukadam Case, and wished an exemplary punishment for him.
Taking to Instagram, the actress said “I wish this happens now!! But it was fun to cut it into pieces. Hanging is the death of a moment. This should be made a lesson so that someone should be afraid…!! Now legal people will come forward here… Abid Malhi right now. Shanawaz Ameer should also die a dog’s death”.
On Monday, the Islamabad High Court changed Zahir Jaffer’s punishment from life imprisonment to a death sentence, prompting the actress to react. This verdict was delivered in response to appeals made against the convicts’ punishment and the acquittal of the co-accused in the brutal murder of the 27-year-old woman. The decision had been pending since December 21 of the previous year.
Jaffer was sentenced to the death penalty for both the rape and murder of Noor Mukadam, leading to the decision for double capital punishment. Previously, he had been given a 25-year imprisonment sentence with hard labor and a fine of Rs0.2 million after being convicted of rape. Bushra Ansari shared her thoughts on the matter via Instagram, expressing that while she hoped for the death penalty, it would have been more appropriate if Jaffer had met the same fate as Noor Mukadam. She stated that he deserved an exemplary death.
She also stated that Abid Malhi and Shahnnawaz Ameer should suffer a painful death. Many individuals came forward and supported Bushra’s opinion. One person commented, “Although much needs to change, this is at least a starting point.” Another person stated, “His parents should also be held accountable as they were aware of it and did nothing they concealed it.” A user agreed and wrote, “Examples need to be set.” One individual expressed their eagerness by asking, “When will this happen? I am waiting for them to be hanged till death.”
