Hazrat Ali (R.A) is a prominent figure in Islamic history and one of the companions of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him). He was born ten years before the announcement of the prophethood and his Kunniyat or nickname was Abu al-Hasan and Abu Turab, while his title was Haider.
Hazrat Ali (R.A) was the cousin and son-in-law of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). His Caliphate lasted for four years, nine months, and some days.
Hazrat Ali (R.A) was the first among children to embrace Islam, which showed his great faith and love for Allah Almighty and the Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him). He was also known for his exceptional bravery and intelligence, which earned him great respect among his peers.
One of the most significant events in Ali’s life was his marriage to the Prophet Muhammad’s (peace be upon him) beloved daughter, Hazrat Fatima (may Allah be pleased with her).
In the eyes of the Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him), Hazrat Ali was an extremely important person, and he once said to Hazrat Ali (may Peace Be Upon Him), “You are to me like Harun (A.S) was to Musa (A.S), except that there will be no prophet after me” (Sahih Bukhari 4416, Volume 6).
Loving and having faith in Hazrat Ali (Peace Be Upon Him) is a demand for the believers because loving him is evidence of loving the Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him). A person is not deserving of the title of a believer until he loves Hazrat Ali (Peace Be Upon Him).
In Kufa, during the Fajr prayer, the unfortunate Abdur Rahman ibn Muljam and his companion Shabib ibn Bajrah attacked Hazrat Ali (R.A) with swords, resulting in a fatal wound. Three days later, on the 21st of Ramadan in the year 40 Hijri, at the age of 62, Hazrat Ali embraced martyrdom due to the injuries sustained in the attack.
Hazrat Ali (R.A) is a revered figure in Islamic history, known for his faith, bravery, intelligence, and loyalty to Allah and His Messenger (peace be upon him). His life and teachings are great examples for the human beings around the world to this day.
